BUSBY MAROU have decided to make sure they spend this spring at home with their first annual “Bring It Home” Regional Queensland tour. Each year, the boys will be personally selecting a Regional Queensland band to join them for the run and this year it is Rockhampton melodic 4 piece masters “SLIP ON STEREO”. The “Bring It Home” tour marks the last run of shows of their debut album cycle as Tom and Jeremy are already well into the process of writing album #2 which they plan to record this Summer. You may even get to hear a few of their cracking new songs!

The SxSW experience was unreal!! Keeping in mind this is my (jeremy) first time overseas as well. Austin in my view is the greatest city in the world (in the sxsw week anyhow).

Before SxSW we shared a night out in LA where we also played at an Aussie BBQ. Was good to mingle and jingle with Aussie bands whom we normally wouldn’t get to have a good listen too under different circumstances, all of which were great however ‘Lowrider’ were hands down my pick of the bunch. In a brief summary, in hindsight we may have partied a little too hard.

From LA we moved onto Houston, all a little under the weather… Jet lag of course. Here Tom and I did our first US radio interview, including 2 songs… We also did a live store appearance at ‘Cactus Music’ before preforming at another Aussie band showcase. It was at the Cactus Music show we realised that someone… aka Jonny stressville had left all my guitar pedals back in LA. Luckily for us there was a music store across the road were we restocked… including a new guitar.

Texas Guitar show!! Tele central… couldn’t not walk out with a new one..

The show case in Houston was at a place called the ‘Warehouse Studio’ it was a cool little venue. The gig itself was a little rushed for us, was had to use all brand you guitar pedals, and the overall sound in the room wasn’t ideal. We did however get some great feedback and met some really cool people.

From Houston after an entire day of travelling we landed in Austin. When we arrived at our accom at first we were a little weary thinking we had booked a house in the ghetto, it actually turned out ok.

Our first SxSW show was at B.D Riley’s Pub (Irish Pub). this was cool little venue in the heart of 6th street. Before our set Joe Robinson played… he is probably one of the best guitarist in the world (in my view anyhow). I didn’t really want to take the stage after him. This gig was good, few sound issues but nothing we haven’t dealt with before. I personally was still a little under the weather from LA so i snuck off for an early night.

Friday 16th ~ afternoon show at ‘Aussie Tastes & Tunes – Whole Foods Markets.
Didn’t really know what too expect, but when we got there it was a great little outdoor setting in a courtyard. again we got to watch Joe Robinson do his acoustic thing before us. this gig was a lot of fun, good sound, and so simple when its just the Cojon and Bass… little to set up and easy to hit the ground running.

After the whole food markets show we got ready for our only ‘official showcase’ on the SxSW program. This gig was at the Hilton Gardens and we were on at 10pm. This show had a slightly different feel then the shows previous, PA was sound great, and a lot more media covered this gig… it was good to see a few Aussies fans turn out to this show as well, they turned out to be a great bunch of lads.

From all accounts Jonny Stressville (soundy) nailed the sound.
